Dr.N. Suryanarayana Raju has been presently working as Principal, S.V.K.P. & Dr.K.S. Raju Arts & Science College, Penugonda, West Godavari District since 01-9-2016.  He was the meritorious student right from his school education.  He was the National Merit Scholarship holder throughout his education.  He obtained M. Sc., Botany degree from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam as rank student and obtained first class with distinction.  Later he got the Junior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi during the year 1981 and started his Research Career at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.  He obtained M. Phil., and Ph. D., degrees from the same University.  To his credit he published several Research papers in National and International Journals of repute.  He authored several articles in text books with ISBN Number.  He authored one monograph entitled “Illustrations on the Grass Species of West Godavari District” which came out as the best resource for identification of grass species.  He completed UGC Minor Research Project on “Grass Pollen Aerobiology in Relation to Respiratory Allergy” and got appreciation from the Allergy clinics of Corporate Hospitals.  He organised National Seminar and workshops.  He participated in several National and International Seminars.  He was nominated by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram and several autonomous colleges to utilise his services in the Board of studies”.

            He has been invited by other colleges as resource person for Guest Lecturers on Tissue Culture and Genetics.  He has been offering consultancy service to botanists regarding the identification of grass species occurring in the west Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.  Coconut farmers are being offered extension service by him regarding the management of mite disease on coconut.  He has been working in this college since 1984 in the capacity of Reader in Botany.  He served the institute in the capacity IQAC Co-ordinator, NAAC Steering committee co-ordinator, UGC co-ordinator, Research Committee Convener and so on.  For the last five years he has been coordinating three UGC sponsored Career Oriented Courses by which the employability skills of the students have been increased considerably.  He is instrumental in obtaining the CPE status to the college.  He is known for his creative work in Teaching, Research and Administration.  He established the state of the art Botany Museum in the campus which has been bringing laurels to the great institute.
